ABP CVoter exit poll gives Mahagathbandhan's Tejashwi Yadav edge over NDA's Nitish Kumar

According to the ABP Cvoter exit poll the National Democratic Alliance is projected to get 104-128 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party that broke away from the NDA is slated to only get 1-3 seats.

Exit polls for Bihar Assembly election 2020 have begun. According to the ABP Cvoter exit poll the National Democratic Alliance is projected to get 104-128 seats, while Tejashwi Yadav's Mahagathbandhan is expected to bag 108-131 seats in the 243 member assembly.

Interestingly,  the Lok Janshakti Party that broke away from the NDA is slated to only get 1-3 seats. 

The Cvoter exit polls give 14 seats to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Seemanchal, while the BJP may grab 10 seats. The JD (U) and the Congress do not seem to be getting any seat in this region.

The RJD is likely to become the single largest party winning close to 80 seats in Bihar Vidhan Sabha Chunav. The BJP with almost 70 seats may come second while the Nitish Kumar's JD (U) is going to bag only 42 seats reveals the Cvoter exit polls.   

Party-wise projections:

Mahagathbandhan:

RJD: 85 seats

Congress: 25 seats

NDA:

BJP: 70 seats

JDU: 42 seats

The NDA alliance that comprises of Janata Dal (United) contested on 121 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fought 122 seats in the Bihar chunav.

The Bihar Assembly elections were held in 3 phases, keeping in mind the COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing norms. In the first phase, held on 28 October, 71 assembly constituencies went to polls. 

The second phase held on November 3 saw 94 assembly constituencies go to the polls. In the third and final phase held today, polling was done on 78 seats. The counting of votes will be held on November 10. 

According to the poll panel, there were 7.29 crore voters in the state, including 3.85 crore male and 3.4 crore female voters and 1.6 lakh service voters.

These were the first election held since the COVID-19 pandemic and the EC had taken additional measures to ensure that the polls are conducted while following the COVID-19 guidelines.
