"AMC sealed many offices in Mangalmutri complex, including Aam Aadmi Party's office, on Wednesday, as the owner of the commercial building had not paid tax of Rs 75 lakh on those properties," a senior AMC official said.

The office was sealed as per the civic body's existing norms and there is "nothing political" about it, the AMC official said, adding that AAP workers ought to have checked the facts before setting up their office in a disputed complex.

AAP's Gujarat unit's spokesperson Harshil Nayak admitted that the office was sealed by the civic body.

"The office was sealed two days ago. We had taken the office on rent, but as the owner of the complex did not pay the property tax amount, it was sealed," Nayak said.

"We had not started functioning from that new office in a proper way. It was a makeshift arrangement. We had shifted some luggage from our old office to the new rented office and at such a time, it was sealed by the AMC," Nayak said.

When asked whether any AAP assets were inside the sealed office, Nayak said, "The party office did not have much assets inside, except a computer and some stationary."
