With the new Aadhaar services update to the UIDAI website, you can now change several details in your Aadhaar card.
At present, the Aadhaar card has become an essential document. It is now the most crucial document and identity proof in the country. One’s Aadhaar card is linked to almost every personal document they have, be it your PAN card or your driver’s license. From government schemes to financial services, Aadhaar is required everywhere
The Aadhaar card is a unique identity of every Indian. It contains the details of the person's name, date of birth, gender, address.
With the new Aadhaar services update to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website, you can now change several details in your Aadhaar card. All that you have to do is go to the official website of UIDAI and follow the instructions to change a wide range of information with a click of a button.
How much will you have to pay to change your Name, DoB, Gender, or Address in Aadhaar?
You can make changes to your Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address and Language Online via the Aadhaar Self-service Update Portal online. The charges for making these changes have been kept at minimum by the UIDAI. Against each update on the UIDAI portal, you will only be charged Rs 50. Notably, an update of more than one field at a time is considered as one update only.
People are encouraged to keep all your personal information mentioned in the Aadhaar card up to date, which can now be done digitally, by using your registered mobile number and UID on the official website.
You can visit https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ to update your Aadhaar details using the Self-service Update Portal. Notably, you will require some valid documents for verification while making some changes. For changing your name, you'll need a scanned copy of Proof of Identity (POI). For the Date of Birth, a scanned copy of the Proof of Date of Birth is required. Similarly, for Gender change, OTP authentication via mobile/Face Auth is needed. For Address, a scanned copy of Proof of Address (POA) is needed. No document is required for language change.
