SHEIKHPURA: Nine people were gunned down by  criminals at Moneypur village under Kasar police station area here on Saturday night.
 
Police said the criminals attacked the village and shot dead nine people when they were planning for the third phase of panchayat elections to be held on Monday.
  
So far, gang rivalry has claimed 18 lives in three days in Bihar.
 
The killings are supposed to be a result a gang rivalry. The Ashok Mahto gang was suspected to be involved in the carnage.
  
The Akhilesh Singh gang had killed nine people in Gowadih village of Nalanda district on May 18.
 
Senior police officers have gone to the spot.
