AHMEDABAD: Nine blackbucks have been found dead at a private farm in Saurashtra, forest officials said here on Wednesday.

The blackbucks, a protected species, were found on Tuesday night in Ingotala village of Amreli district. According to a senior official, the cause of death might have been poisoning.

Meanwhile, the viscera of the animals have been sent to the Junagadh forensic laboratory for investigation.

According to the authorities, there are more than 400 blackbucks living in the forest area of the Babra range in Amreli, about 350 km from here.
