A 34-year-old man in Goa has been booked for molesting a minor neighbour and then inducing her to keep the incident a secret by giving her Rs30, police said Thursday.
Guruprasad Yadav, a resident of Shantinagar in Vasco city, molested the eight-year-old girl at his home Wednesday, according to sub inspector Gautam Salunke attached to the Vasco police station.
"Yadav invited the girl to his house and molested her. He then gave her Rs30 and asked her not to disclose the incident to anyone," police said.
He has been booked for physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures, illegal confinement, unnatural offences and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code and under the Goa Children's Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
