Eight people, all construction labourers, were killed and 13 others injured in a powerful IED (improvised explosive device) blast, triggered by suspected militants, in Manipur capital Imphal on Friday evening.
Official sources said the condition of three of the injured was ‘critical’. The bomb went off at around 7:30pm at Khoyathong area in the heart of Imphal. Those killed were from outside the north-east and they were working for Kolkata based company Simplex Projects Limited.
