Eight Bangladeshis, including three illegal residents, who had allegedly burgled a house here, were arrested, police said today.

"Police arrested them and also their local accomplice here yesterday. However, one of the Bangladeshis managed to escape," SP Raj Kumar said.

Looted valuables, Rs4 lakh in cash, seven country-made pistols, two knives and a large number of cartridges were seized from them, he said.

Only five of the Bangladeshis had visas while others did not have valid documents for their stay in the country, he said. The police have booked them under the Foreigners Act as well.

The accused had robbed the house of a businessman here a week ago.
