6 feeder buses to ease woes of BRTS users in Ahmedabad

The Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) of Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL) is planning to begin six feeder buses to ferry passengers from Kalupur/Sarangpur to Dilli Darwaza to ease the woes of commuters. The Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) will provide buses to AJL for this purpose.

Mayor Asit Vora told DNA, "Many passengers have to face lot of trouble to travel to other parts of city from Kalupur. They've to depend on AMTS buses for commuting. Hence, we are planning to ease passengers' woes by connecting them to BRTS buses through these feeder buses." He further said, "We'll survey how many passengers travel through this corridor and depending on that, we will begin the feeder bus service."

Harshadray Solanki, general manager-operations of AJL, said: "We are planning to have six feeder buses. These buses will take passengers from Sarangpur/Kalupur to Dilli Darwaza for Rs2. From Dilli Darwaza, commuters can board BRTS buses to their respective destination. This will help them travel quickly."
He further said, "The six feeder buses will ply with mixed traffic till Dilli Darwaza. It will be available every eight minutes from Kalupur."

With buses going to be available every 8 minutes and at a reasonable cost, AJL is all set to provide speedier transport service.

The mayor added that the feeder bus service is expected to begin within 10-15 days.
