Six partymen belonging to AIADMK tonsured their heads in nearby Tirupur district in Coimbatore on Monday to celebrate the expulsion from the party of Sasikala Natarajan, a trusted aide of party chief Jayalalithaa.Jayalalithaa Monday expelled Sasikala Natarajan, her husband M Natarajan, Jayalalithaa's disowned foster son VN Sudhakaran and 11 others from the party. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister made the announcement in a terse statement, citing no reasons for her action.According to police sources, the workers, raising slogans hailing the decision taken by Jayalalithaa, said they would "stand behind their leader during any crisis".In some areas in Tirupur and rural areas of Coimbatore, party workers burst crackers to welcome the expulsions, police said.
