Greed for money proved undoing for  the accused who had murdered a property broker in Heera Nagar area around five months ago. Police recovered mortal remains of the victim on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference, DIG Rakesh Gupta said  after hectic efforts in last three days  with IMC and fire brigade, police recovered mutilated body of property broker Vishnu Kevat, a resident of Bhangarh village. His son Nitin identified him on the basis of clothes found on the body.

Police have arrested two accused Arjun Kevat, who had killed Vishnu, and his younger brother Arvind of the same village, who assisted in dragging and hiding the body in 30 feet deep chamber hole on May 13 night.

The accused called Vishnu through a woman.

Arjun has two wives and Vishnu was reportedly having relationship with one of them.
When Arjun came to know about the same, he decided to eliminate Vishnu.

On May 13, Arjun called Vishnu saying he had arranged a woman for enjoyment at the farm at MR-10 and to lure him also gave his cell phone to the woman for talk with Vishnu.
As soon as the victim reached there, Arjun assaulted him with a sharp edged weapon (Falia).

The woman panicked seeing blood oozing out of the fatal injury and she was sent to her house with brother Arvind.

Later, Arjun and Arvind dragged the body to around 300 meters and dumped it in a 30 feet deep chamber near a bridge and returned to their house.

After the police swung into action on  information of ransom through cell phone of Vishnu and senior police officials frequenting his house, the accused stopped calling through his cell phone and began making ransom calls from PCO.

Whenever his wife would ask to give phone to Vishnu, the accused on one pretext or other avoided. They stopped  making calls for over three months but recently when they again resumed calling her, police kept a watch at certain PCO and caught Arjun.

Though Arjun is a primary school dropout, he was a contractor for constructing chambers and was aware if something is dumped there it was almost next to impossible to get it out easily. He had also misled police twice by spreading information that Vishnu fled with a woman to Baroda and later Ujjain.
