At least five people, which included three children of the CBSE joint secretary, were killed in separae road accidents on the Yamuna Expressway on Sunday.

According to the Times of India, the tragedies took place from Mathura and Hathras districts of Uttar Pradesh. The first accident took place near milestone 134 in Mathura at around 5.30 am when a truck rammed into an unknown vehicle. In that accident, a 43-year-old constable identified as Gopichand was killed. The vehicle driver has been hospitalised where his condition is said to be critical. The report has added that the accident took place when the driver of the unknown vehicle suddenly applied the brakes, and the truck driver did not have enough reaction time to stop the truck.

The second accident took place at 9.30 am near milestone 141 of Sadabad police jursdiction of Hathras district. In that incident, four people, including three children of Ram Shankar, the joint secretary, CBSE, were killed.

The victims have been identified as Prashant, Prabhas and Prachita. All of them are over 25 years of age. The fourth victim was identified as Mohan Gupta
