Terror outfit JeM suffered a setback on Monday when the Indian Army killed five of its fidayeens who crossed the Jhelum in boats to infiltrate into Kashmir from the Uri sector along the LoC in Baramulla.

Brigadier YS Ahlawat, Commander of the Army’s 12 Brigade in Uri, said a major tragedy for the Army was averted in the run-up to Republic Day celebrations. 

This is only the second time in the last 28 years of militancy when terrorists have explored the river route to infiltrate into Kashmir.
