4th plaint takes Jenny Shukla’s fraud total to Rs45 lakh

All those who have been cheated by Jenny Shukla, 51, seem to have awakened from their stupor and are making a beeline to cops to register their grievances. Within a span of 20 days, the fourth and latest victim surfaced on Wednesday. With this, Jenny, who successfully hid her original identity, has cheated four people of Rs45.57 lakh till now.

After her arrest by Ellisbridge police for three cheating complaints, Sola police on Wednesday alleged Jenny and two accomplices defrauded one Manjari Patel, a resident of Somtaal bungalow near Sindhu Bhavan of Rs5.25 lakh. They allegedly took the money on the plea of buying a plot of land on her behalf before vanishing.

Patel and Jenny, both members of Lion’s Club, met in December 2011. Jenny identified herself as a senior advocate of high court and president of BJP’s women cell of Gota ward. She lured Patel to buy cheap land available at Dholka. To trap her further, Jenny allegedly told Patel that in order to complete the transfer of the land which is already in her possession, she needed a partner who can invest Rs10 lakh.

She also called her to the HC and arranged a fake meeting with one Suresh Raval, a junior advocate and one Arvind Dalal, who posed as property agent. She also showed Patel some fake land documents before asking Patel to transfer the money into her account.

Patel said she transferred Rs5 lakh into Jenny’s account through net banking and another Rs25,000 in cash for registration of land. However, after receiving the money, Jenny cut off relations with Patel and kept dilly-dallying about giving the original land transfer papers to Patel. Hence, she went to the cops. Sola police booked a case of cheating, breach of trust and forgery against the trio.
