“The Corporation has installed CCTV cameras in 40 more schools with an aim to provide security to students,” SDMC Mayor Shyam Sharma said on Thursday.

“This will ensure that the students are provided with quality education and that any untoward incident can be averted. This will also help us keep a check on teachers,” Sharma added.

He further said the SDMC’s control room will enable the officers sitting in the Civic Centre to monitor the happenings in the school. At present, the SDMC manages 581 schools.
