The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the only route connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country, was reopened today after remaining closed for a day due to a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Ramban district, officials said."The highway has been reopened after the landslide triggered by heavy rains was cleared by Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Panthal area this morning," officers at the police control room said.Over 350 vehicles that were stranded at various stretches on the highway due to the closure were allowed to move, they said.This was the fifth time in a month that the 294-km highway, the only route to transport fuel, goods and other supplies to the Kashmir Valley, was closed.
