The Uttar Pradesh government today effected a major reshuffle transferring 12 IAS and 21 IPS officers including the Divisional Commissoner and the IGP of Bareilly which recently witnessed communal riots.The Mayawati government also entrusted additional  responsibilities to three IAS officers and relieved one of hisadditional charge, an official spokesman said. Eight Inspectors-General of Police, including the IGP Bareilly and the IGP Intelligence (Headquarters), were among those transferred.Majid Ali, the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly, scene of communal rights last month, has been appointed principal secretary of the Women Welfare and Child Developmentdepartment.  He will be succeeded by Mirzapur District Magistrate Ramakant Shukla, the spokesman said adding DM Rampur SanyuktaSammaddar will replace Shukla.IGP Bareilly Bhanu Pratap Singh has been shifted to the Fire Services in the same capacity. He has been replaced by IGP (Moradabad Range) Gurbachan Lal.

IGP Intelligence (Headquarters) Rajendra Pal Singh has been appointed IGP Moradabad, the spokesman said.DIG (ATS Allahabad) Rajiv Sabbharwal, who was given the additional charge of SSP Bareilly during the communal clashes,has been relieved of the responsibility.DIG (Jhansi Range) N K Srivastava will be the new SSP Bareilly.DIG M K Bashal, who was shifted during the communal flare-up in Bareilly and was put on the waiting list, has been transferred to the CB-CID department. 

Yesterday, the Mayawati government gave fresh postings to four IAS officers, including Vijay Shankar Pandey who was shunted out of the Chief Minister's secretariat last month.Pandey, who was transferred to Revenue Board Allahabad as member (Judicial), has been attached to Mayawati's residential office.Pandey was shifted out of the CM's secretariat after the mega rally of the ruling BSP on March 15.
