According to police, the body of the woman was found lying in a pool of blood along with an 11-year-old girl and two boys, aged 9 and 10.

Their throat-slit bodies were found in a house at Summergarden colony in the Lisarhi area here. Police is yet to ascertain the identity of the victims, they said.

"We have found out that the woman had come here three days ago with three children to work as a labourer. However this can't be said that all the children are her own," a police official said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem and efforts are being made to identify them, police said.
