Home minister P Chidambaram met his Pakistani counterpart Rehman Malik late last month.Asked whether New Delhi should trust Islamabad, Pillai avoided a direct reply, saying Pakistan has a democratically elected government with law and order in place.Pillai said the country would continue to strive for maintaining friendly ties with its neighbours.
