In a tit-for-tat like move, former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s widow and MLA from Pulivendula in Kadapa YS Vijaya Lakshmi has sought a probe into the amassing of wealth by former chief minister and the TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.

Vijayamma, as the now YSR Congress chairperson is popularly known, has filed a 2,400-page public interest litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh high court asking the court to order an enquiry into the way Naidu had misused his position as the chief minister in amassing wealth.

The petitioner has named 20 respondents in the petition including Naidu, his wife Bhuvaneshwari, son Lokesh, Rajya Sabha MP YS Chowdary, Naidu’s family-owned Heritage Foods, media baron Ramoji Rao and various other associates of Naidu.

Recently, on a petition filed by senior TDP leader Yerrannaidu and a Congress leader Shankar Rao, the high court had ordered a CBI probe into the allegations of amassing of wealth by YSR’s son and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. The CBI has already filed an FIR in the CBI court against Jagan and others.
