18 Uttar Pradesh policemen fined for being absent from duty

Eighteen policemen have been fined for being absent and negligent on their duty hours following a surprise check by a senior rank official, police said on Tuesday.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) conducted a surprise check on Monday here where he found that 18 police officials were found missing, SSP HN Singh said.

One day's salary would be deducted from their accounts as they were found to be negligent on their duty, he said.
