HYDERABAD: Seventeen Telangana Rastriya Samiti (TRS) members were suspended for the day from Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for obstructing the proceedings over Telangana statehood issue on Monday.

The TRS members stalled the business of the House for the fourth consecutive day, storming the speaker's podium and raising slogans like 'Jai Telanganga'.

The Speaker K R Suresh Reddy first adjourned the House for 30 minutes amid noisy seens. The fuore showed no signs of subsiding when the House reassembled.

As the ruckus continued, the legislative affairs Minister K Rosaiah moved a motion seeking suspension of the TRS members. The speaker then announced the suspension of 17 TRS members present in the House for one day.

As the agitating members refused to leave, the marshals were called in to evict them.

Later, the TRS members staged a sit-in in the Assembly premises.
