Fifteen Sri Lankan fishermen have been arrested by Indian Coast Guard today for reportedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line and fishing off Keezhakarai coast.

Three fishing boats used by them have also been seized, fisheries department officials said.

They said the department had also received complaints that Lankan naval men in gas operated boats had come upto the fifth sand dune off Danushkodi coast and attacked some Indian fishermen.

The coastal security group had now been asked to do random checks of fishermen's boats to ascertain if Sri Lankan fishermen were fishing in Indian waters, they said.
