14-year-old Amritsar girl gang-raped and thrashed

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three persons who also tried to kill her on the outskirts of the city, police said.

The accused gagged the victim and tied her hands before gang-raping her on the terrace of the building in which she was living. They later beat her mercilessly.

The girl was found in a pool of blood by her family members.

The victim, who also suffered head injuries, was admitted to hospital.

Police have booked three youths identified as Suraj, Inder and Amit under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for threatening, raping, attempt to murder and inflicting grievous injuries on the victim.

No arrest has been made so far.
