SRINAGAR: At least 13 people were injured in a powerful hand grenade explosion at Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Tuesday night though a similar explosion in this summer capital did not cause any damage, police said.

Guerrillas exploded a hand grenade at Chankhan in Sopore town, 56 km from here, injuring 13 people including some labourers from Bihar. The injured were rushed for treatment, police said.

Militants hurled a hand grenade at security forces at Habba Kadal in downtown Srinagar that exploded without causing any damage. Security forces and local police combed the area.
