Eleven people were today caught in flash floods in Tawi river in Jammu district following which the army and police have launched an operation to rescue them.
 
Two groups of people, comprising 11 members, got caught in the flash floods when they were collecting sand from the banks of the river in Belicharana area on the outskirts of Jammu city, police said.
 
The trapped persons raised an alarm and sought help from locals, they said, adding police then rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operations.
 
Army and police have now launched an operation to rescue them.
