11/11/11 signifies the master number, the Sun God

The Hindu epic drama Ramayana has described Lord Rama as the descendant of Surya, whereas on the other hand in another Hindu epic Mahabharata, Karna, one of the warriors of ‘The battle at Kurukshetra’, is said to be the son of Kunti and Surya. In these two Hindu epic dramas, Surya or the Sun God played a significant role.

The number 11/11/11 symbolises the Sun God which indicates at the master number auspicious for those born or entering into a new venture, mainly business or job.

Chandrakant Bhatt of Aditya Parashar Jyotish, said, “Sun God gives excellence in education. Besides, it helps an individual achieve good health and wealth. For those in the field of politics, bureaucracy and government, this is an auspicious day which brings in great prosperity.”

Bhatt added that for auspicious occasions like marriage, which is a new beginning to an individual’s life, this day is an excellent day to start off. “For those who want to attain the goodness of life, they should chant gayatri mantra, hanuman chalisa and any hymns of Lord Vishnu on this day,” Bhatt said.

Amish Hasmukh Patel of Naranpura, said, “Engagements and marriages can be held on this particular day as it will bring good fortune for the individuals. While it is beneficial for a new born baby, this day will also bear fruits of health, wealth and success for those who want to start a new business.”

The union of man and woman under the sacred institute of marriage is not desirable on this day, feels senior astrologer at Ganesha Speaks, Tanmay Thakar. He said, “On 11/11/11 Chandra and Sun (guru) are together and guru is vakri (weak) which is why the union of man and a woman is undesirable. However, this day is auspicious for the birth of a child or entering into a new venture by an individual.”

Thakar added, “As per numerology, ‘11’ is a master number and a source of energy that has the potential to face any kind of challenge and come out a winner. However, it is like a wild horse, which needs to be shown the right path in life, with the utmost discipline or else there are chances of destruction. Children about to be born on this day will be brilliant and talented and will have the potential to inspire others. Their innate approach in matters of life and vision for life will help them achieve great success and fame.”
