Ten Naxals and 55 terrorists were arrested in the national capital during the past three-and-half-years, the Lok Sabha was informed today.
 
While five cases have been registered against ten arrested Naxals, 23 cases were filed against the 55 terrorists arrested in the past three years and this year upto July 31.
 
This was disclosed by minister of state for home affairs Ajay Maken in a written reply.
 
Maken said Delhi police has taken a series of steps to check the spread of Naxalism and terrorism in the capital which include deployment of armed response teams, security audit of vital installations and regular checking of cyber cafes.
 
To another question, minister of state for home affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said there were two cases of misuse of Delhi police insignia since 2009.
 
While one case was reported last year, the second was reported this year. Two persons were arrested in this connection.
 
"Delhi Police does not permit the use of Delhi police insignia on private vehicles. Stray incidents of misuse of Delhi police insignia on private vehicles in Delhi has been reported," Ramachandran said.
