A 21-year old worker was killed and two others were injured when explosives used by them to loosen soil went off unexpectedly in the opencast mine complex of Neyveli Lignite Corporation in Cuddalore today, police said.
A 21-year old worker was killed and two others were injured when explosives used by them to loosen soil went off unexpectedly in the opencast mine complex of Neyveli Lignite Corporation in Cuddalore today, police said.The workmen, engaged in mine expansion works at Mine-I area, had drilled holes and filled them with explosives which went off ahead of the fixed time, killing Gunasekaran of Samuttikuppam village on the spot.The injured had been hospitalised, police sad.NLC chief safety officer (mines) conducted an inquiry.
