Vasant Kunj double murder: What we know so far about death of Mala Lakhani and her domesic help

She had her boutique named Tulsi creations in Green Park. However,the tailoring was done in the Vasant Kunj appartment where the prime accused was employed.

Rahul Anwar, who worked as a tailor in the boutique made the elaborate plan of robbingg Lakhani's house. For that he even got his cousin Rehmat and friend Wasim onboard. The objective was to loot valuables and then kill the lady. (Image-Facebook). Rahul and Rehmat are both 24 yeards old whereas Wasim is 25. 

Police believes that the double murder took place between 10-11.30  PM. The aim was to rob the house and the three accused have confessed that they killed Bahadur and Mala for that. However,they only informed the police about their nefarious act at around 2.45 AM. Police rushed to Vasant Kunj enclave, but by then it was too late. (Image-ANI)

The working theory which the police is operating with currently is that the three people panicked after committing such heinous crime.

During interrogation, the three said they had hatched a conspiracy to kill her.Anwar told police he had been working with Lakhani for a while. His payments were due for the last few months and he had received money in instalments, police said. 

The accused had left the house in the car of Lakhani after looting valuables. So the decision to surrender was probably an after-thought once the realisation crept in about the gravity of the crime. (Image-ANI)
