A couple of days back, an older video of actor Ajaz Khan had surfaced in which he had urged Muslims to rise up against mob lynching.

In a video posted on social media on June 28, actor Ajaz Khan urged 40 crore Muslims – legal and illegal – to rise up and take to the streets to protest incidents of mob lynching.

In the video, which some have called communal, Khan blamed the RSS and Bajrang Dal for ‘forcing people chant Jai Shri Ram’ and accused PM Modi of shielding them. Goading the Muslim community, he asked them to come out on the streets and ‘shut down the country’.

He said he wouldn’t use the honorific ‘aap’ for PM Modi and instead call him ‘tu’ if he didn’t act. He alleged that PM Modi – as a former RSS member – shielded the mob.

He went on to call Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a terrorist and said those who forced people to chant Jai Shi Ram considered Godse their god.

The controversial video was uploaded on the social media app Tiktok by Faisu, Hasnain, Faiz and Sadhan (Saddu).

In two videos the whole gang that goes with the name 'Team 07' was seen enacting a message that says, "Innocent Tabrez was killed, but if Tabrez's son grows up and takes revenge then Muslims shouldn't be termed as terrorists."

After the matter was highlighted, video making app Tiktok also issued a statement saying, "TikTok has zero-tolerance for content that incites violence against other users or any content that violates its Community Guidelines. In line with this, the video in question, which has violated our Community Guidelines, is no longer available on TikTok."

"Such irresponsible acts will not be tolerated on our platform, hence we have suspended three user accounts and are cooperating with law enforcement agencies. The three user accounts belonged to Hasnain Khan, Faisal Shaikh and Sadhan Faroqui," TikTok said.

The entire matter was highlighted after Shiv Sena activist Ramesh Solanki reported the matter to police and registered a complaint against five TikTok users who have a combined following that of 4 crore people.

When contacted Solanki, he said, "The videos were divisive, the users who uploaded the video were asking others to take revenge, this is asking people to get violent. We shouldn't tolerate such form of violence."

Solanki had also said that the taking down of video was no big deal and instead his demand is that these people should be banned, their accounts suspended. The videos within hours had received lakhs of like and had several comments on it, before they were taken down.

Santosh R, Senior Police Inspector of LT Marg Police Station, where Solanki filed the complaint had said, "We have received a complaint, and are yet to decide to further course on the complaint."
