After the accident, locals prompty reached the spot and rushed Nur to a hospital where the young man was declared dead.
The latest victim in a series of unfortunate accidents involving the videomaker app TikTok is Nur Ansari of Purulia in West Bengal, who died on Sunday night after being hit by a train while filming a TikTok video by the rail tracks.
After the accident, locals prompty reached the spot and rushed Nur to a hospital where the young man was declared dead. His friends, who were present at the site of the incident for the shooting, have also suffered varying degrees of injuries.
Several warnings continue to be issued against the use of the app TikTok by voluntary organisations and activists. Authorities have alarmed the people, especially the youth, against using their phones while crossing the road or a rail track, as being distracted for even a while may warrant an encounter with death.
However, despite all the educational and awareness campaigns, irresponsibility continues to take its unfortunate toll.
1. Locals warned against filming
According to sources, Ansari along with a few of his friends were on Sunday night shooting a video for the TikTok app by the rail tracks near Karting Gate in Purulia.
Locals said that the group was shooting the video for a considerable while and despite their warnings, they didnt heed their calls of concern. Instead, as if to display their arrogance, the youth edged even closer to the tracks for shooting the video, the locals added.
Their activity turned out to be fatal, as Nur was so distracted by the video he did not notice the train that had arrived.
2. Immersed in TikTok, they couldnt hear the approaching
Witnesses said that the Barabhum - Asansol train had suddenly arrived from behind the group of youth, who were too engrossed with the video to notice it.
Even though the train repeatedly honked its horns, the alarm fell deaf to their ears, who were taken by surprise just as the train made impact.
Before Nur could even react, he was thrown across by the sheer force of the impact, tearing open massive wounds in his head and skin, from where an excessive amount of blood was gushing out rapidly. Nur's friends were injured as well.
3. Family went into mourning
The locals rushed Nur Ansari for immediate medical care to the nearby Mahato Hospital, but it was too late, since he had lost a lot of blood by then. The doctors declared Nur dead, while his associates are still admitted at the hospital, undergoing treatment.
Since the incident, silence has engulfed the locality. Nur's family has gone into mourning. Earlier, a number of warnings had been issued against the use of the app TiKTok. Even courts in this country have gotten involved regarding pleas to ban the app.
However, more than an app, misfortune is the virulent mortal force here, as evident by yet another ill-fated incident ending with the death of one more unlucky soul.
