Talking about IPL, Tejashwi Yadav was in the Delhi Daredevils squad for four seasons (2008-12), but he never got a chance in the playing XI of the team. Apart from batting in the middle order, he could swing the ball.

On the question of not playing for the then Delhi Daredevils team in the IPL, father Lalu Prasad once said that his son got a chance to be in the team as an extra player, the one who supplies drinks on the ground.

Tejashwi managed to play a first-class match. He got this opportunity in the Jharkhand team in 2009, when he landed in Ranchi against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy Plate League. But he was able to score only one run in his debut innings and was out leg before wicket. While bowling, he gave 17 runs in 5 overs in Vidarbha's first innings but did not get a wicket. Tejashwi scored 19 runs in the second innings.

Apart from this, Tejashwi has played two List-A matches (domestic ODIs) and four T20 games. Tejashwi's cricketing career never touched the heights he had hoped. He had a high score of 19 in first-class cricket, 9 in List A, and 3 in T20. He got a wicket in the name of success, which he got in List A cricket.

Despite being contracted as an IPL player in 2010, Tejashwi began campaigning for his father in the Bihar assembly elections. It was clear that Lalu was trying to bring his son into politics.
