1. The Royal Family of Jaipur

His Highness Bhawani Singh was the last titular head of Jaipur and he adopted Diya Kumari’s son, Padmanabh Singh, as his successor. Padmanabh became the Maharaja of Jaipur in 2011. The royal family has given out the Rambagh Palace to Taj Hotels to run.
2. The Royal Family of Jodhpur

Once upon a time, Jodhpur was ruled by the Rathore family. Jodhpur is home to the Mehrangarh Fort as well as the Umaid Bhawan Palace. Currently, Maharaja Gaj Singh lives in the Umaid Bhawan Palace, with his wife, two kids and their spouses. The royal family has opened a part of the Palace to tourists and the rest is managed by the Taj Group of Hotels.
3. The Wadiyar Dynasty

The Wadiyar Dynasty once ruled the Kingdom of Mysore. The 'Kings' of this dynasty trace their history to the Yaduvanshi clan of Lord Krishna. In 1612, Queen Alamelamma of Vijaynagar cursed the Wadiyar dynasty for capturing the throne and said that Mysore kings would never bear children. It seems that this curse have been in power for the last 400 years. Currently, 27-year-old Yaduveer Krishnadutta Chamaraj Wadiyar is the head of the dynasty. Wadiyar was not the direct heir and his uncle, Srikantadatta Wadiyar, died childless in 2013. His wife adopted Yaduveer as their son and turned him into king. The new king holds a degree in English Literature and economics. It is rumoured that the family has assets worth Rs 10,000 crore.
4. The Mewar Dynasty

Great kings like Maharana Pratap belonged to the Mewar Dynasty and his descendants now live in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The head of this family is His Royal Highness Arvind Singh Mewar. Arvind Singh is a very successful businessman and is the head of the HRH Group of Hotels. Singh and his wife Maharani Vijayaraj live in the Udaipur city palace.
5. Nawab of Pataudi

The Nawabs once ruled the kingdom of Pataudi back and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was the last titular head. He married actress Sharmila Tagore and the couple had three children. Now, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan serves as the Nawab of Pataudi. The Pataudi Palace is worth Rs 800 crore.
6. The Gaekwads of Baroda

The Gaekwads have remained in power in Baroda since the early 18th century. Currently, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad, 52, is the head of the royal family of Baroda. He has also inherited property worth over Rs 20,000 crores, including the 2,000 acres of prime real estate, the 600-acres of land and the 187-room Laxmi Vilas Palace.
