On Saturday, PM Modi amped up the attack on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee saying she had only fooled people in the name of ‘maa, mati and manush’.

Calling her speedbreaker Didi, he said that the West Bengal CM had lost her sleep after the first two phases of the Lok Sabha Polls in West Bengal.

Speaking about instances of Bangladeshi actors campaigning for TMC, he said: “It is shameful that people from neighbouring country are campaigning for the TMC, which was done to appease the minority community.”

Attacking her for questioning the Balakot air strike, Modi said: “Mamata Banerjee should seek proof against those behind chit fund scams, instead of asking for proof of the Balakot strike.”

He also spoke about the death of a BJP worker in Purulia and said: “In Purulia, a BJP worker was murdered. I want to assure each West Bengal BJP worker& people of the state that justice will be done. Strict action will be taken against those people who are responsible.”

A 22-year-old BJP Yuva Morcha member Sisupal Sahis was found hanging from a tree in Senabana area of Arsha village in Purulia region on Thursday. Police have started an investigation to ascertain the cause of death. Commenting on the incident, district's BJP president Bidyasagar Chakraborty said Sisupal was an active member of the party and it is necessary to investigate whether it is a murder or a suicide. Earlier on April 8, body of a 42-year-old man was found hanging at the booth office of the BJP in Siliguri district of the state.

Last month, BJP had urged the Election Commission to declare West Bengal as a "Super Sensitive" state. "Around 100 murders took place during Panchayat elections in West Bengal. Officers sit on dharnas along with the Chief Minister. The ruling party's (BJP) national president's chopper is not allowed to land there," BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad had said substantiating the party's demand for declaring the state "Super Sensitive". West Bengal is having elections in all seven phases since April 11. Elections will conclude on May 19. The results will be announced on May 23.

Popular Bangladeshi actor Ferdous Ahmed, who was expelled by the Indian government, has apologised for campaigning for a candidate in West Bengal, terming it as an "inadvertent mistake" and a step taken out of love of the people of the state.
The Indian government on Tuesday issued a 'Leave India' notice to Ahmed and cancelled the business visa given to him for allegedly campaigning for a Trinamool Congress candidate in the state.

The actor has also been "blacklisted" by the Union Home Ministry, jeopardising the chances of his future travel to India.
I apologise for my inadvertent mistake. I hope everyone will forgive me, he was quoted as saying by bdnews24 news portal.
Ferdous said he understood that it was a mistake to take part in election campaign of another country, he said in his statement to the news website on Wednesday after returning home the previous night.
He said he had been driven by emotion from the love of the people of West Bengal when he had joined the campaign along with his Indian co-actors.

Ahmed won Bangladesh National Film Award for best actor four times for his roles in the films Hothat Brishti (1998), Gangajatra (2009), Kusum Kusum Prem (2011), Ek Cup Cha (2014).
Another Bangladeshi actor Ghazi Abdul Noor was on Thursday asked to leave India immediately after he attended a political rally in West Bengal.
"Appropriate action is also being taken regarding his overstay in contravention of visa rules," a home ministry official said.
