Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday held a mega roadshow in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, a day ahead of filing his nomination from the ancient city. The Prime Minister began his 7-km roadshow after paying tribute and garlanding a statue of Pt Madan Mohan Malviya outside Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
"Grateful for the warmth and affection! " Modi tweeted after the commencement of the 7-KM roadshow, which passed through several parts of the city, including Lanka, Godhalio and Assi areas, amid cheering crowds, wearing saffron-coloured attires and showering rose petals.
PM Modi also attended and performed Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening around 8 pm and later delivered a speech. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, party chief Amit Shah and UP BJP Chief Mahendra Nath Pandey accompanied the Prime Minister.
On Friday, PM will address booth heads and party workers at 9.30 am and go on to worship the city god Kal Bhairav at 11 am. "At 11.30 am, PM will file his nomination for Varanasi Lok Sabha seat," said the BJP.
"In this (nomination) program, Akali Dal's senior leader and former chief minister (Punjab) Shri Parkash Singh Badal ji, Bihar chief minister and JDU chief Shri Nitish Kumar ji, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray ji, central minister and president of Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas Paswanji will be present," the party press release had said.

4. Thousands join PM Modi in Varanasi roadshow

PM Narendra Modi, who is holding a mega roadshow in Varanasi, was joined by thousands of supporters, party workers, and locals Thursday. Following his roadshow, the Prime Minister will attend Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat later in the day. The ghat has been decorated with LEDs and flowers.

PM Modi held a mega roadshow in his Varanasi constituency Thursday, which will go to polls in the last phase of Lok Sabha election 2019 on May 19. He will be filing his nomination from Varanasi constituency on Friday following which the Prime Minister will address booth level workers and carry out poll rallies ahead of the upcoming election in the state.
Top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders, including Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman, as well as BJP president Amit Shah and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states will accompany him when he files the nomination.
