Temples across the country have kicked off the nine-day festival of Navratri 2021 from today, October 7, with COVID-19 norms in place.
The festival season in India brings a lot of joy and devotion to the hearts of the people every year. As the first day of Navratri 2021 begins today, many are overjoyed to commence the nine-day celebration. Last year, the celebrations were cancelled for the most part due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. Delhi’s Jhandewalan Temple

2. Odisha’s Biraja Temple Shakti Peeth
The Biraja Temple Shakti Peeth in Jajpur, Odisha is making preparations for the devotees to arrive on the first day of the festival. Devotees will be able to see the Navratri rath from 5 am till 1 pm today, but no public will be allowed during rath yatra tomorrow, as per the official guidelines. (Photo: ANI)
3. Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple

4. Gorakhpur’s Kali Temple

5. Kangra’s Mata Bajreshwari Temple
The Mata Bajreshwari Temple in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh has been decorated with flowers and garlands for devotees on the first day of Navratri 2021. Devotees who will be visiting from outside the state will have to present a negative RT-PCR test upon entry, as per the guidelines. (Photo: ANI)
