Karnataka updates Live: Yeddyurappa visits RSS office, says legislature party meeting after Delhi's green signal
BS Yeddyurappa is likely to stake claim to form government today.
A day after JD(S) and Congress alliance government collapsed in Karnataka, it is time for BJP to form government in the state.
With 105 MLAs, BJP is the single largest party and will be running a minority government in the state for now, it is unlikely that we have seen the last of nataka in Karnataka for now. On Tuesday, the Kumaraswamy government collapsed managing only 99 votes even as BJP had 105 votes during the trust vote.
Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party meeting was initially scheduled to be at 11 AM. However, the meeting was postponed as the BJP Central leadership has yet to formally send any instructions.
BJP's BS Yeddyurappa has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah after Congress-JD(S) govt lost trust vote in the assembly. The letter reads, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations&best wishes for the support extended by your good self, other leaders of the party&party in general"
Outside Yeddyurappa's house, it is celebration times, as the supporters exude happiness over the JD(S)-Congress government getting toppled with 19 dissidents resigning.
* A Govt order has been issued, I am happy that on my way out I have worked for the interests of the weaker sections. One can contact the Assistant Commissioner in the next 90 days to avail this benefit: Kumaraswamy
* When I took oath, my govt decided to waive off farmer loans, we planned to bring in Debt Relief Act. I wanted to bring such an act & help landless labourers & small farmers. We sent the proposal to the President for approval. He has now signed it, I thank him: Kumaraswamy
* Today, I invited all my senior officers and thanked them. While I honoured them, I gave some suggestions - in future same kind of political developments will take place, instability of govt may continue even after the new govt is invited by the Governor: HD Kumaraswamy
* I requested them that at that juncture their responsibility is more than that of elected representatives and our officers. I requested them to take care of the development of state and problems faced by common man and not depend on elected representatives: Kumaraswamy, caretaker CM
