Karnataka crisis: Cong-JD(S) govt in danger as more MLAs shift sides, dissidents move to Goa

The Congress party has accused BJP behind the resignation of MLAs, however, BJP denied Congress' charges and said that the party had nothing to do with the situation in Karnataka.

The Karnataka government has run into major trouble as resignations of Congress-JD(S) continue on Monday.

Among another MLAs, senior Congress leader and legislature Roshan Baig also said that he would resign angry join BJP mentioning that Congress party has not treated him well.

Meanwhile, dissident MLAs who were lodged in Mumbai's Sofitel hotel have left for Goa.

According to Mumbai hotel staff, the rebel MLAs had escaped through Mumbai hotel back door between 1-2 pm on Monday. The MLAs left for Goa at around 5 pm. This development happened as Congress leader DK Shivakumar was leaving for Mumbai to make contact with dissident MLAs.  

Among these 14 MLAs, 10 are of Congress, 2 of JD(S) and 2 are independents. According to reports, BPJ leader Mohit Bharatiya was given the responsibility to take MLAs to Goa. 

Earlier in the day, all Karnataka Congress and JD(S) minister had resigned in order to make accommodate some of the dissident MLAs who resigned saying that they have lost faith in the state government. 

The Congress party has accused BJP behind the resignation of MLAs, however, BJP denied Congress' charges and said that the party had nothing to do with the situation in Karnataka.

In the meanwhile, BJP Karnataka chief Yeddyurappa said that the party will wait and watch.
