Jio Fiber services from Sep 5, free HD or 4K LED TV with 4K set-top box for annual subscribers; details inside

Speaking at the 42nd Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced several other consumer-related services under the Jio umbrella.

Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd, on Monday said Jio Fiber customers will get HD/4K LED TV and a 4K set-top box absolutely free as part of its launch offer.

Speaking at the 42nd Annual General Meeting, Mukesh Ambani announced several other consumer-related services under its Jio umbrella.

Addressing the meet, Ambani said Jio will introduce unlimited international calling at Rs 500 per month and on top of it, Jio Fiber customers will get free HD/4K LED TV as a launch offer. 

Ambani urged start-ups to register for custom design package at the Reliance Jio website.

Mukesh Ambani also announced the launch of its much-awaited Jio Fiber service which will be available from September 5, 2019 commercially. Jio Fiber service is also currently available to select users under its Beta testing mode.

Announcing a host of services, Mukesh Ambani said the experience of Jio Fiber and Jio set-top box really comes to life when combined with an LED TV. 

Further uncovering the service, Mukesh Ambani said, "Jio Fiber customers who will opt for our annual plan, which we call 'Jio Forever Plan' will get an HD or 4K LED TV and 4K set-top box absolutely free." 

"We are calling this the Jio Fiber welcome offer. I invite all of you to make the most of the Jio welcome offer and sign up for Jio Fiber as soon as it is available in your neighborhood," Ambani said. 

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Monday announced the commercial launch of Jio Fiber on September 5 with base plan starting at a speed of 100 MBPS and going up to 1 GBPS with prices ranging from Rs 700 to 10,000 per month.

Jio Fiber will empower 2.4 million SMBs. It will have reliable connectivity and cloud applications. SMBs services at par with large enterprises, Ambani said.  

Mukesh Ambani also announced 'Jio First Day First Show' plan under which Premium Jio Fibre customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms on the day of the release. This service will be rolled out in 2020. 

Another big announcement at the 42nd annual general meeting (AGM) was Reliance's partnership with Microsoft under which Jio will set up data centres across India and Microsoft will bring the cloud platform.

"Over the next 12 months, Reliance Jio will install one of the largest blockchain networks in the world in India," Ambani said.

"We are investing in 14 technology start-ups. Jio aims to connect one billion homes via IoT. Jio fiber will empower 2.4 million small, medium enterprises," he added.

The company also announced India's first priority SIM set-up service at home which will have seamless data and voice connectivity everywhere. 

Under this scheme, it will offer unprecedented family plans with data sharing.

Also, it will also offer international roaming at a fraction of a cost. Phone up-gradation will be available at preferential rates.
