The proposed design for the Ayodhya Mosque suggests that the complex will also include a super speciality hospital, a library and a community kitchen.

The Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) trust released the first designs of the proposed Ayodhya Mosque in the Dhannipur village of Ayodhya. The mosque plan comes in the wake of the Supreme Court order on the Ram Janmabhoomi title dispute case. In its November 2019 judgement, the apex court had ordered the Uttar Pradesh government to allot a separate five-acre land for the construction of a mosque in lieu of the place where the Babri Masjid once stood.

The upcoming mosque is said to have a futuristic design and the architectural plan for the land also includes a hospital and a cultural centre.

Check out these first pictures of how the Ayodhya Mosque complex would look like:

According to the initial designs, the mosque would cover an area of over 1700 square metres in the complex. It will have two minarets in the front and a skylit glass dome too. (Image: IANS)

The five-acre land of the mosque will also include a much larger 200-bed super speciality hospital. (Image: Twitter)

As per the plans, the mosque complex will also have a library, a community kitchen, an archival centre, and a museum too. (Image: IANS)

According to the IICF, the proposed design for the mosque will enforce energy-efficient practices. To that end, it will be solar-powered and be surrounded by a green patch and many trees. (Image: IANS)

The Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board will take care of the construction through the IICF trust, which was set up six months ago. There will be no big foundation laying ceremony for the project, which is slated to take place on the Republic Day in 2021. (File Image)
