Here we will tell you how to get your name updated on your Aadhaar and PAN cards.

Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Aadhaar Card is a 12-digit identity number, which is necessary for day-to-day tasks these days, especially online ones. On the other hand, PAN Card is also an important document helps that the Income-tax Authority in keeping a track of all financial transactions that may be essential in assessing an individual or companies tax liability, it helps in reducing the chances of tax evasion.

Aadhaar Card is also required for anything from opening a bank account to filing income tax returns. Keeping an Aadhaar Card up-to-date is crucial as it is the most sought-after and trusted identity and address proof document.

However, at times many people are faced with an issue wherein the name of a particular person is spelt differently in their Aadhaar Card and PAN card. Either there is a spelling mistake or the whole name is different.

- Visit the National Securities Depository Limited website

- Select option 'Correction in Existing PAN'

- Choose the category type

- Documents with correct name and right spelling to be attached.

- Click on the Submit option

 Fee will be charged, amount not disclosed.

- Updated PAN card will be sent to the registered address in 45 days from the day of application.

-Visit the Aadhaar Enrollment center

- Fill Aadhaar modification form

- Enter the correct information in the form

- Documents with the correct name and right spelling to be attached with this form.

- Rs 25 to Rs 30 have to be paid for updating the information, the amount may vary as per location and center

- After following these processes your name will be corrected.
