Ganesh Chaturthi 2019: TMC MPs Nusrat Jahan & Mimi Chakraborty spotted in festive spirit at pandal inauguration

Ganesh Chaturthi celebration has gripped the entire nation. The whole of India is filled with joy and enthusiasm as Lord Ganesha has arrived and will stay for 10 days. 

While people in Mumbai are celebrating the festival with all zest and zeal, the celebrations in Kolkata is also on the peak. Various puja pandals can be seen in Kolkata to mark the festivities and two young TMC MP's were spotted during an inauguration ceremony of a puja pandal. 

TMC MP’s Nusrat Jahan and Mimi Chakraborty were seen in festive mode during the inauguration of a community pandal of Lord Ganesha at Salt Lake city near Kolkata.

Donning sarees both MP's were drenched in the festive spirit. 

The theme of the Ganesh puja pandal at Salt Lake City was inspired from Dholkal mountain in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh which Archaeologist discovered in 2012.

Ganesh Chaturthi, the 10-day festival kicked off on Monday which is marked with the installation of Ganesha idols privately in homes, or publicly in elaborate pandals.

During Ganesh Chaturthi festivities Ganesha idols are installed in homes or in huge public temporary pandals. Family and friends come together to celebrate this festival.

The theme of the Ganesh puja pandal at Salt Lake city was inspired from Dholkal mountain in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh which Archaeologist discovered in 2012. The Ganesha idol at Dholkal is is 6 feet high and 21 feet wide and is made of granite stone.

The place where it is found, Bastar, is also of high importance as this is the place where the great battle between Ganesha and Parshuram was fought. Today, this Ganesha idol has huge importance and people from all over the country visit here to seek the Lord’s blessings.

 

3. About the pandal

This six-foot idol of the 10th century was discovered by a local journalist and from then on it made the archeologist scratch their heads.
