1.Lowest temperature recorded in past 11 years
Temperature in Leh was recorded -17.1, while in Kargil, it was -14.4, which is the lowest night temperature in December.
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no change in the weather for atleast a week. The people of Kashmir may have to face wrath of severe cold.
2.Temperature at Drass was -21.7C
The coldest place in Kashmir was the Drass, Kargil where temperature was -21.7C. The most touristy area like Gulmarg and Pahalgam, recorded temperature of -9.4 and -7.9 respectively.
3.Frozen water bodies
As the mercury slipped further below the freezing point, resulting in frozen water bodies and water supply lines in several residential areas.
