From Sonia to Mamata: Leaders from across the spectrum pay tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Vajpayee died earlier today due to multiple organ failure at AIIMS. He was 93. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited his residence and stayed for over an hour. Other leaders to visit him were External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP veteran LK Advani.
A pall of gloom descended on the Krishna Menon Marg where politicians and members of the public gathered to pay their final tribute to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence.Shouting slogans like 'Atalji amar rahe' (long live Atalji) and 'Vande Mataram', scores of people outside Vajpayee's residence sombrely stood outside with flowers in their hands to catch a glimpse of their leader.
