As the Guinness World Record holder turns a year older on Wednesday, here's a look at all that you need to know about Jyoti Amge.

World's smallest living woman and Indian actress, Jyoti Kisange Amge, turns 27 on December 16.

In 2011, when Jyoti turned 18, she was officially declared the world's shortest living woman (measuring less than two feet one inch) by the Guinness World Records. In 2009 when Jyoti was just 16-years-old, she was adjudged the shortest living girl.

Before Jyoti, Bridgette Jordan of the US held the record. 

Earlier in April, Jyoti took to the streets of Nagpur and called on people to stay indoors following the coronavirus-induced lockdown which was lifted in phases later in the year. However, it must be noted that citizens are still dealing with the virus as thousands get affected across the globe.

Jyoti is a world-renowned celebrity and has appeared on several television shows including Bigg Boss 6. 

As the Guinness World Record holder turns a year older on Wednesday, here's a look at all that you need to know about Jyoti Amge. 

According to the Guinness World records, Jyoti Amge is the world's smallest living woman with a height of 62.8 centimetres. Jyoti is 6.2 centimetres shorter than Bridgette Jordan of the US, who previously held the record of the world's short woman. 

Jyoti Amge, born on December 16 in 1993, suffers from genetic disorder achondroplasia, whose primary feature is dwarfism. Due to this disorder, Jyoti can never grow taller than her current height. 

Jyoti Amge was seen in a 2009 documentary titled 'Body Shock: Two Foot Tall Teen'Besides this, the Guinness World Record holder was seen as a guest participant on 'Bigg Boss 6' and she was cast in the fourth season of 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' as Ma Petite. With Teo Mammucari, an Italian actor-presenter, Jyoti co-hosted Lo show dei record in 2012 on the Italian channel Canale 5.

Like many famous celebrities, Jyoti Amge too has a wax statue. Her wax figure is displayed at Celebrity Wax Museum, Lonavala.

In a recent interview with ET Online, Jyoti revealed her ultimate goal. She said she wants to be famous enough so "that everybody around the world knows her and she reaches the point of Oscars."
