Economic Survey 2021 tabled in Lok Sabha - Know all about it

After the presentation of Economic survey 2020-21 by Sitharaman, the Chief Economic Advisor KV Subramanian will address a press conference at 3.30 pm today in New Delhi. 

The Economic Survey 2020-21, authored by a team led by Chief Economic Advisor Krishnamurthy Venkata Subramanian, details the state of different sectors of the economy as well as reforms that should be undertaken to accelerate growth.

India’s economy could contract 7.7 percent in the financial year that ends on March 31, pulled down mainly by the coronavirus pandemic and the weeks-long nationwide lockdown to contain the disease. This is in-line with the estimates of the Reserve Bank of India (7.5 percent contraction), and the Central Statistics Office (7.7 percent contraction). As per the speculation, this survey serves as a roadmap for the nation's economy. However, the Economic Survey of 2021 is considered the official report card of the Central government.
