The woman was beaten so badly that her health also deteriorated due to the torture and her clothes were torn apart. After receiving information on this, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal along with other members of the team reached the woman's house and rescued her.

Maliwal said that the house was filled with bad smell as the woman was not allowed to use the washroom by her husband. After talking to the woman's kids, she got to know that the woman's husband used to beat her badly and if she ever tried to escape, she was brought back, beaten, and then tied again with chains.

Maliwal informed that the woman is undergoing treatment. She, along with her team, also lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the woman's husband and his family.

Swati Maliwal, in a video, said that such treatment of women is a slap on the face of civilized society. To save women and children from such harassment, the people of society have to come forward.
