Chembur blast in pictures: Fire at Bharat Petroleum Refinery in Mumbai

The incident took plcae at 3 PM.

On Wednesday, a blast was reported at Chembur in Mumbai. The incident reportedly took place at around 3:00 PM. A fire was reported in BPCL refinery at TATA Power, Mahul road, Gavan Gaon, Chembur.

A level three fire was reported at the BPCL RMP plant. 7 fire engines, 2 foam tenders and 2 jumbo tankers were sent to the area, said CFO Prabhat Rahangdale. The explosion was so intense that tremors were felt till Deonar.

The fire is confined to Hydrogen tank in BPCL refinery RMP as preliminary information received.

Due to tremendous heat and buildup pressure fire Fighting is being carried out from safe distance and using fixed monitors.
