Worms have been found in food which is being served to flood-affected people in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. People living in Muzaffarpur's Orai Prakhand region and other villages which falls under the Bagmati river dam project have been severely affected by flash floods which happened in the past one week.

The local administration in order to serve food for people who have been affected by floods has set up 18 community kitchens. However, the quality of the food which is being served to the people will leave you shocked.

When Zee team reached the shelter facility, it found worms in the rice.

Even after being caught on camera, the local administration tried to hush up the matter. The senior officials only took notice when a police officer exposed the quality of food.

Speaking on the issue, the District Magistrate said that it is the administration's duty to provide food to the people affected by floods in the region and they will ensure that quality food is served to those in distress. Over 25 lakh people are currently reeling from floods in Bihar with death toll crossing 50. The state government is trying to bring the situation under control but continuous rainfall is making their work difficult.

DM said that it is the priority of the administration to provide quality food to the people.  To ensure that good quality of food is served from now, either a government officer or a doctor will first taste it  and then it will be served to people. This practice will be adopted in all the community kitchens in the area.
